New Delhi: Ten institutions, including UB Group, Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital and AIIMS, have sought Government's permission to set up roof-top helipads, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel informed Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
Only institutions meeting the DGCA guidelines are permitted to operate helicopter services from roof-tops, Patel said.
So far, only Essar Group and Taj Wellington Mews (both in Mumbai) have been given authorisation for helicopter operations from their roof-top heliports, he said.
Patel said the ten proposals pending with DGCA are from Adtiya Birla Memorial Hospital, Pune; United Breweries (Holdings) Ltd, Bangalore; Satnam Realtors, Mumbai; Bai Kabibai & Hansraj Morarji Charity Trust, Mumbai; KKJ Foundation, Ernaculam; G-Crop Project, Bangalore; Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Centre; AIIMS, New Delhi; Devi Construction Co, Pune and Brigade Enterprises, Bangalore (two proposals).
