New Delhi: Air India has inducted the fourth Boeing 777-200LR (Longer Range) aircraft into its fleet on Wednesday.
The 238-seater aircraft has been configured with eight seats in the First Class, 35 in the Executive Class and 195 seats in the Economy Class.
Following Air India's policy of naming its B777s after Indian states, the aircraft has been christened 'Gujarat'.
This is the fourth of eight Boeing 777-200 LRs ordered by the national carrier from Boeing in December 2005, with the fifth expected in February.
The plane will enable non-stop flights on the Delhi - New York sector, which has been slated from February 8, 2008.
