Jet Airways lands in Kuwait

Kuwait: The inaugural flight of India’s Jet Airways landed at the Kuwait International Airport Saturday from Cochin, southwest India. Expanding its international network, the Jet Airways inaugurated its daily direct flights to Cochin and New Delhi — the first Indian private sector carrier to offer such flights. Announcing the launch, Commercial Executive Vice-President Sudheer Raghavan of Jet Airways said with the large number of Indians living and working in Kuwait, flights to these regions consistently register high load factors. “Passengers will now experience a safer, more comfortable and reliable flights to and from Cochin and Delhi,” he said.
Operating with a fleet of 737-800 aircraft, Jet Airways offers 16 business class and 216 economy class two daily flights to and from Delhi and Cochin, said Acting Deputy director-general of the airport Sami Al-Halib. Talking to the press during a ceremony held to celebrate the occasion, Al-Halib renewed the commitment of the airport authorities to offer all facilities to the airline and ensure safety of passengers. Chairman of National Air Services (NAS) Bara’ Al Romi said NAS will provide the Jet Airways with all services in terms of passengers, commodities, engineering, and fueling.
Meanwhile, the Jet Airway’s flight 9W 571 from Kuwait to New Delhi will depart Kuwait at midnight and arrive at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 06:25 hrs. The return flight will depart Delhi at 08:50 hrs (Indian time) and arrive at Kuwait at 11:10 hours.
