Thiruvananthapuram: With India and Bahrain reaching a bilateral aviation agreement, Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has secured rights to fly to Hyderabad daily. The airline will also begin daily flights to Kochi and Kolkata.
“We will be increasing services to Hyderabad, Kochi and Kolkata. We are evaluating the proposals and hope to start the operations soon,” said Rajeev Nambiar, general manager, Gulf Air in India.
“The agreement between civil aviation authorities from India and Bahrain has granted us additional capacity in India. This bilateral aviation agreement is a testament to the long-standing relations between Bahrain and India,” he added.
Gulf Air operates out of Kochi five times a week and has daily services to Thiruvananthapuram. “We were the first airline from the Middle East to operate in India. We shall also look at serving people from Kozhikode soon, which will be the third destination that Gulf Air will fly out of Kerala,” he said.
