Youth held at airport

Nedumbassery: Thahir Khan, 19, a migrant labourer from UP was helping the construction of the cabin for Jet Airways in the international terminal of the Kochi airport here on Friday night when a colleague challenged him whether he can touch an aircraft parked in the bay.
Thahir Khan, son of the late Shabeer Ahmed of Ghazipur in Agra, did not think twice to accept the challenge. He went to the airside of the airport through the security gate and reportedly ran towards a parked aircraft.
The security personnel who found a person running towards the aircraft in the night immediately intercepted him. Thahir Khan was handed over to Police Aid Post at the airport.
Chengamanad police arrested him.
Meanwhile, police and other investigating agencies launched a detailed inquiry into the other details regarding Thahir Khan. They have decided to check whether he had any connection with any militant groups.
