Vasco: The nationwide strike of airport employees today did not affect flight services at the Dabolim airport.
Around 36 airport employees, coming under the Airport Authority Employees Joint Forum, Goa unit, held dharna at the airport entrance protesting the central government's move to start two new airports in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
The Dabolim airport director, Mr D Paul Manickam said the flight services were at scheduled time and the strike has not affected the operations.
The AAEJF secretary, Goa unit, Mr B Suresh Babu and its president, Mr B G Desai informed that they were opposing the move of the central government to set up two new airports in Bangalore and Hyderabad from April 1 as setting up of these two new airports might lead to closure of the existing airports.
