Direct flight for Haj pilgrims from Indore to Jeddah

Bhopal: Haj pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh will have a direct flight from Indore to Jeddah from next Haj season of 2008.
The decision to connect the city with Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) was taken at the All India Haj Conference organised by the Haj Committee of India at New Delhi recently.
As per the decision, Hajis departing from Indore would no longer be required to undertake the journey in two batches, which would save them about Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000, the Committee said in a release.
Nusrat Mehandi, Secretary Haj Committee (Madhya Pradesh) attended the Haj meeting at New Delhi presided over by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and attended by Civil Aviation Minister Prafulla Patel, Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahmad, Consulate General of India, Jeddah Ausaf Saeed, Chairman of the Central Haj Committee Iqbal Ahmad Saradagi.
