Emirates Airline to hard-sell Malabar

Thiruvananthapuram: Dubai-based Emirates Airline is spreading wings to Kerala's northern city of Kozhikode, after Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram, hard-selling spicy, silky Malabar.
The Kozhikode schedules will start on July 1. Emirates is organizing a road show in Kozhikode tomorrow, focusing its destinations, different products and tourist packages. Kozhikode is seen by the airline as among the most important in the Indian sector.
"The Malabar region holds out a huge potential and we had come here after the two other airports because we got the clearance in that order. We see ourselves as being accepted wholeheartedly by the passengers from and to Malabar, and add to it would be the region as a booming tourism destination," sad Orhan Abbas, vice-president India and Nepal, Emirates.
With an estimated 2 million Keralites working in the gulf region, the airline has lined up major plans for Kozhikode, after having been successfully begun operations from Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi.
