Mumbai: Jet Airways shares rose 2 per cent after its chairman said the company will turn profits over the next year, helped by more international routes, and is also assessing the market for a rights issue.
Chairman Naresh Goyal also said that the country's largest domestic airline is open to buying smaller domestic carriers that might be on offer to expand his airline empire.
The airline is establishing its second European hub at Milan Airport, inorder to operate its flights to the US routes via this hub. Goyal said Jet would closely work with European carriers like Air-France-KLM-Alitalia to offer travellers seamless connections between Europe, the US, Canada, Africa and India.
