Mumbai: Australia-based, Qantas Airways Ltd., which introduced its online flight booking facility in India in December last year plans to enhance the online offerings for Indian travelers. The airline as part of its second phase of development of the flight booking facility plans to add online payment solutions to the website www.qantas.co.in by adding credit card and net banking facilities. It will offer comprehensive route network with other destinations connected in Australia. Plans are also afoot to include car rental and hotel options through the airline`s subsidiary company, Qantas Holidays.
“The second phase is likely to take place in another 12-18 months from now,” says Khursheed Lam, Manager, India and South Asia, Qantas Airways Ltd. At a later stage the airline intends to introduce web check-in tool. Currently, the website offers limited functionality, which includes point to point flight network of the airline, flight schedules and facility to change meal options. The payment is done offline. Another development on the Indian front is the replacing of the aircraft on the Mumbai route, from A330-300 to A330-200.
