On Monday evening at around 5.15 pm, a Kingfisher vehicle collided with an Indian baggage carrying van inside the Mumbai airport.
According to airport sources the driver of the Kingfisher Scorpio was returning to terminal 1A after dropping the crew at another bay.
“At that time an Indian aircraft was parked on bay number 15 and the baggage van was near it. The Kingfisher driver tried to take a shortcut and got inside the bay where no vehicle is allowed to go,” says an official who wished to remain unnamed. In his haste to reach the terminal, the driver hit the baggage van. The Mumbai International Airport Limited spokesperson said that they have confiscated the Airport Driving Permit of the Scorpio driver.
