Pilots go on the offensive

An argument between a Member of Parliament and a pilot of Air India has now escalated into a major row. Pilot associations of various airlines backing the captain now want the Prime Minister to intervene and MP Wahab to be punished for calling the pilot a glorified driver.
The pilots have refused to take it lying down, offended at being referred to as glorified drivers by Rajya Sabha MP PV Abdul Wahab, pilots are going one step beyond just demanding an apology, they now want to put Wahab on the blacklist.
Pilots are seeking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi's intervention. The pilot association said that, according to Indian Aircraft rules, Wahab had committed a 'level 4 offence' when he stormed into the cockpit of the Air India flight. Level 4 offences is a serious offence, more serious than threat of life.
The pilots are even planning to write to the International Pilots Association (IFALPA) to have Wahab put on the US Department of Homeland Security's blacklist, which would prevent the MP from entering the US.
Abdul Wahab had been offloaded by an Air India flight, after the pilot, Captain Rajat Rana refused to fly him for arriving late, resulting in a huge argument.
