Kuala Lumpur : Days after a shootout at the International Airport here, security has been beefed up with armed personnel toting submachine guns patrolling the driveway outside the arrivals and departure halls.
The gunmen had leapt out of a BMW, snatched a bag which contained 1 million USD from two money changers and shot them and their guards before fleeing in another vehicle.
Investigating the dramatic sequence that saw gunmen injuring five persons and fleeing with the money on April 11, police is pulling out files of Indian gangs who were linked to similar robberies in the past, a media report said.
It was believed that the gunmen who pulled the shots were of dark complexion and had shouted instructions in Tamil, the New Strait Times said.
