AAI can lease hangar to RIL, but subject to final order: HC

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Friday allowed Airports Authority of India (AAI) to lease a hangar at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport to Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries, but said if lease is executed it will be subject to final order of High Court.
Reliance Transport and Travels Ltd, a company belonging to Anil Ambani group, has filed a suit in the High Court staking claim to the hangar.
The main suit is pending before justice A P Deshpande, but RTTL wanted a stay to execution of lease agreement between AAI and RIL till the suit was decided. Division bench of Chief Justice Swatanter Kumar and V M Kanade refused to grant such a stay.
However, the division bench said that "if the lease is executed", then it will be subject to final order in the suit.
Bench also said that RIL neither can create any third-party rights in the hangar, nor can it hand it over to a third party. Currently hangar is in RIL's possession.
