IAF stages aerobatics display in Berlin

Berlin: A breathtaking aerobatics display by the 'Sarang' helicopter team of the Indian Air Force on Tuesday enthralled the visitors at the Berlin Air Show, which features India as a "partner country" this year.
During the half-hour demonstration, a six-member 'Sarang' team in three Dhruv helicopters displayed their skills and versatility with single cross, dolphin leap, double cross and other manoeuvres and weaved an array of beautiful patterns in the skies over Berlin's Schoenefeld Airport.
Defence Minister A K Antony and a high-level delegation of senior government and military officials he is leading here watched the display.
"It is a great honour for the 'Sarang' team to perform in a European Air Show for the first time and also to be part of India's first presentation as the partner country in an air show abroad," the leader of the 'Sarang' team Wing Commander Shashank Misra said.
The 'Sarang' team continuously strives to upgrade and perform new profiles for each display and its debut at the Berlin Air Show will give a big boost to its international image, Misra said.
The 'Sarang' team will be giving daily flight displays until the show concludes on Sunday.
