Indian's gesture to Sharjah-bound women passengers

Kozhikode: Muslim League MP P V Abdul Wahab may have been offloaded from an Air India flight here for reportedly reaching late but three women passengers, who missed their flight to Sharjah from here because of delay in reporting, were flown to their destination on Friday, thanks to Indian's special gesture.
Safoora, Aami and her daughter Aslaha, all hailing from Kannur, were originally scheduled to board IC-595 flight at 6.15 pm on Thursday but were left stranded at the airport after they reported late at the airline counter to secure the boarding pass, Indian Duty Manager Navaneetha Krishnan told PTI.
Even as efforts to accommodate them in the 9.10 pm Express flight did not succeed, the airlines, as a special gesture, came forward to put them up in a nearby hotel, he said. The passengers, for whom Indian spent Rs.1,000 each for food and accommodation, were sent to Sharjah by Friday's 6.15 pm flight, Krishnan added.
