MDLR airlines launches flight to Dharamsala

Gurgaon-based Murli Dhar Lakh Ram (MDLR) airlines has started its flight operation from Delhi to Dharmshala route on a 70-seater Avro RJ aircraft. The airline is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the MDLR Group, which has business interests in infrastructure, shopping malls, multiplexes and luxury hotels.
The luxurious four-engine Avro RJ 70 jets from MDLR, with elaborate all-vegetarian cuisine, comes as a welcome addition to the crowded airline sector in the country. The MDLR mostly caters to religious tourist spot and that the services would soon be extended to places of pilgrimage.
The management of the company got a sigh of relief when the aircraft loaded with passengers successfully landed at the Kangra airport.
The company officials were all jubilant on the occasion.
For the first time, a 70-seater plane was successfully landed in Himachal Pradesh’s picturesque Kangra valley. Kangra airport is located some 40 km from the popular resort town of Dharamsala, which attracts large number of foreigner tourists every year.
The first flight of the MDLR airlines group was scheduled to take place on April 7. MDLR had to postpone its maiden flight scheduled last month from Delhi to Dharamsala and Delhi-Kullu routes, following bursting of aircraft’s tyres during route checking at Kullu airport.
