Praful’s ‘secret’ visit to Mundra has many fuming

Ahmedabad: After Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel’s visit to the private seaport and the future international airport of the Adani Group at Mundra in southern Kutch on Monday, rumour mills are rife about the purpose of his visit.
While sources said Patel, who is close to the Adanis, had had come with a specific purpose, the Adanis said it was a purely personal visit.
“Prafulbhai’s visit had nothing to do with our airport, which has already been declared as a commercial airport by the Union Civil Aviation Ministry,” said Minesh Adani of the Adani Group.
The sources, however, said that Patel met the Adani Group at a private gathering solely to discuss the proposed project of turning the present airstrip into an international airport.
