New Delhi: The proposals of a host of airlines, including the Chennai-based Star Aviation Private Ltd, Kingfisher Airlines, Jet Airways, SpiceJet, Jagson Airlines and MDLR Airlines, to import aircraft and helicopters have been approved by the Government.
Official sources told Business Line that while Kingfisher has been given permission to import three A-330-200 and two Airbus 340-500 aircraft for international operations, Jet Airways has been permitted to import an Airbus A-330-200 aircraft.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation has also approved a proposal of low cost airline SpiceJet to import two Boeing 737-900 aircraft.
Star Aviation has been given in-principle approval for importing 10 new Embraer 170 Long range aircraft, while Zav Airways has been given permission to import two ATR 72-500 aircraft and one ATR 42-500 aircraft.
MDLR airlines has been permitted to import two Bell 407 helicopters and one Bell 412 helicopter.
