AI suspends Kolkata-Bagdogra flight

Kolkata: The recent agitation in the hills has taken a toll on Air India (AI) flights. “The airline will suspend its flight between Kolkata and Bagdogra from 1 July to 30 September because of poor number of passengers,” AI sources said today.
AI operated airbus-320 aircraft from Kolkata to Bagdogra three times a week. The 145-seater aircraft was bringing a good number of passengers from Bagdogra to Kolkata during the recent agitation, including the bandh period. But the number of passengers from Kolkata to Bagdogra was measurably small. Most of those who came from Bagdogra were tourists who had gone there earlier. By now, the return of tourists is over, and the airlines have been carrying few passengers both ways.
