Jeppesen to have representation in India by October 2008

Mumbai: Jeppesen, part of Boeing Company, will establish a representation office in Hyderabad by October this year to cater to the growing needs of the airlines for technological assistance and services. The company has taken this decision after analysing the booming aviation sector of India for the past four years. Jeppesen provides solutions that integrate people, processes and technology to deliver safety, efficiency and economy to aviation, sea and rail operators around the globe.
The company is also aiming to market the Class II Electronic Flight Bags (EFB) in the Indian market, which was launched globally in 2005. EFB helps pilots to navigate at airports and communicate with Air Traffic Controllers. EFB is loaded with airport maps and Own-ship display system using Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) to data link real time ground traffic.
Elaborating on the future plans for India, Max Ali, Director - Business Development India, Africa and Middle East, Jeppesen said, “..We are aiming to target Middle Eastern market along with Africa through the Indian office. Currently we are working with about ten to twelve Indian carriers by providing them aircraft related services and technology.”
