Jetlite cancels 4 flights

Kolkata: Jetlite had to cancel four office flights from Kolkata today due to shortage of pilots who have monsoon clearance certificates.
Pilots have to obtain a monsoon clearance certificate from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) .Nearly 20 pilots many of whom are foreigners holding this certificate were working on a contract with Jetlite. The tenure of their contract expired last week. As a result the airline is running short of such pilots now.
Passengers who were booked on these flights today were either accommodated to other flights or given a refund of their tickets.
