Nagpur: Deccan Cargo, promoted by Captain Gopinath, on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maharashtra Airports Development Company (MADC) for setting up a state-of-art cargo hub at Multimodal International Hub Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN).
Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, who is chairman of MADC and Gopinath signed the MoU in the presence of Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel, New and Renewable Energy Minister Vilas Muttemwar and MADC Managing Director R C Sinha.
As per the MoU, MADC will give 50 acres of land to Deccan Cargo, which will start work on cargo hub soon, Deshmukh said.
Muttemwar said by the end of this month, the MoU with Defence Ministry and Civil Aviation Ministry and MADC would be signed to hand over the land of IAF Transport Aircraft Project to MADC for constructing second runway.
