Captain Gopinath ventures into logistics

The indomitable Captain Gorur Ramaswamy Gopinath had spoken to Nandan Nilekani of Infosys and expressed happiness that poor women had boarded his low cost Deccan Airlines with fares between Rs 300 to Rs 600 and sold their produce in far off towns and made a healthy profit.
This was not to continue as the ballooning prices of crude made the prices of airline seats beyond the reach of any lower middle class passenger but Captain Gopinath’s dream continues unabated.
Now with a new logistics company he has acquired 100 acres of land in Nagpur which is in the centre of the geographical map of India.
With this warehouse, his new company will connect express frieght, road frieght, air cargo, freight forwarders , cold chain, bonded trucking, stevedoring, high loaders, frieghters, IATA agents and aggregators into one general mainstream.
For this the new company has engaged Infosys, IBM and K2 (a Bangalore based infotech company) to prepare the multi-faceted backend systems.
