First Ibis hotel opens in Gurgaon

New Delhi: InterGlobe Hotels, a joint venture between InterGlobe Enterprises and French hotel group Accor to develop a chain of hotels in India under the Ibis brand, has opened its first property in Gurgaon, which is fast emerging as IT and MNC hub on the national capital’s outskirts.This is the first of a series of Ibis hotels the joint venture, launched in 2004, is developing in India.
The Ibis Gurgaon is located on the prominent Golf Course artery and features contemporary European styling, 217 rooms, an all-day dinning restaurant, a bar and meeting room.
InterGlobe Hotels today has a further 11 Ibis hotels at various stages of development across India, adding up to 2,045 rooms and exceeding the initial short-term targets.
Headquartered in Gurgaon, InterGlobe Enterprises has been adjudged as one of the Top 25 Best Work Places 2008 by Great Place to Work Institute. InterGlobe has a network of 52 offices across 23 cities in India, the US and Britain and employs close to 5,000 professionals across its businesses.
These include IndiGo, among India’s fastest growing low-fare airline; InterGlobe General Aviation that represents and services the entire line of HawkerBeechcraft products; development of hotels in partnership with the French major Accor; distribution of Travelport’s Galileo GDS; travel management for 16 international airlines and the Carnival Group’s entire line of cruises, amongst others.
