S African man nabbed at IGI with $62,890

New Delhi: A foreign national was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Friday by airport customs officials for allegedly smuggling US dollars into India .
The accused , identified as 20-year-old Emefiele Evans is reportedly a South African national and was arrested while smuggling US dollars worth Rs 26,00,000. According to the customs officials , he arrived at New Delhi from Cape Town , South Africa via Doha by a Qatar Airways flight on Friday . Custom officials who had been keeping a close watch on all the passengers at the airport , found Evans' movements suspicious . He was intercepted while he was walking out of the arrival lounge after his baggage claim.
