Brand heaven...no we don’t mean the malls that are shooting up across the City or the supermarkets, but our hosa airport. The BIAL is home to over 100 glocal brands, so the next time you don’t find time to pick up a gift for friends and family, there is little to worry.
A chat with the passengers will in fact tell you that these establishments have proved useful. While books occupy the top place in most of the high-flyers’ shopping list, there are also accessories, apparel, perfumes, souvenirs, jewellery, music and toys, to choose from.
One-stop shops Odyssey and Shoppers Stop; Life Spirit, and Sound and Vision that cater to the tastes of gizmo gurus; fashion islands La Moda and Cocoon; book bhandar Crossword; Ethos that offers international time wear; Cauvery, that has on display artifacts that reflect the essence of the State... it is an interesting mix. The arrival and departure duty-free outlets further tempt you to shop. There is even a cigar room.
It’s good news for chocoholics as well. An exclusive Lindt chocolates counter has been set up. A trained chef will prepare chocolates at the counter soon. Chocolates with flowers make for a great gift and beautifully arranged flowers are also available at the BIAL.
As if the free flow approach and aesthetically designed shops (each shop, given Bangalore’s Garden City tag, is designed in the shape of a flower petal or a leaf) are not enough to lure the passengers, the access to the lounges of some airlines have also been given through these shops.
