Delta Airlines launches nonstop flight from Mumbai to USA

Delta Air Lines is today celebrating the launch of its first nonstop flight from Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in the United States. This new daily nonstop flight to Atlanta will offer customers travelling from India over 150 onward connections to destinations across the U.S., and over 30 connections to the Caribbean and Latin America, a convenience unrivalled by other airlines.
Frank Jahangir, Delta’s vice president of sales – Europe, Middle East, Africa and India said, “We are proud to offer the first daily nonstop flight linking India to Atlanta. With this launch we are connecting the commercial hub of India with the commercial hub of the Southeastern United States. Atlanta has one of the fastest growing economies in the U.S. and is home not only to Delta, but also other strong international brands such as Coca-Cola, CNN and UPS.”
Jahangir continued, “The new flight will help strengthen business and tourism links between India and the U.S. In addition to our world hub Atlanta, our new flight will allow customers to reach popular destinations such as Houston, Dallas, San Francisco and Orlando faster.”
Cargo agents and freight forwarders will also benefit from these connections. Danita Waterfall-Brizzi, regional director – Cargo Sales EMEA and India, said, “We anticipate high cargo yields on the new Atlanta flight. Our freight customers will be able to move an average of 18 tons same day delivery seven days a week to more widebody destinations in North and South America than any other carrier. In addition to textiles, electronics and other goods, we are excited about our new Pharma product for the large Indian pharmaceutical market.”
