10 flights delayed in Delhi airport chaos

New Delhi: At least 10 international flights were delayed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Friday morning after there were reports of gunshots being fired at the departure terminal, T 2. There was chaos at the airport after all operations came to a complete standstill for at least 55 minutes.
Vehicles coming to the airport were stopped at the approach road and once the message of a terrorist attack was circulated, there was absolute chaos. While all gates were closed and no one was allowed to come in or go out of the airport, the flights that were about to take off were asked to halt. All lights were turned out for at least 20 minutes as a security measure.
CISF officials later checked and re-checked each and every person present inside the terminal. Even the passengers who had passed the security check had to go through the checking again.
Flights of Emirates, Asiana Airlines, Air France, British Airways, KLM and Swiss Air were delayed in the process. The delay time ranged from 30 minutes to two hours.
