Woman dies on A-I flight

Kolkata: An Air India flight from New Delhi to Singapore made a non-scheduled landing at NSC Bose airport this morning for a "medical emergency".
The pilot of the flight, which left Delhi at about 4.30 a.m, contacted Air Traffic Control officers at 6 a.m. saying that he wanted to land here as a passenger on board had fallen sick.
The flight landed at 6.25 a.m. The airport doctors went inside the aircraft, examined Mrs J Kaur (72), an India born Singapore citizen who was declared dead. Her son, Mr B Singh, was accompanying her and wanted the body to be flown to Singapore. But the pilot refused and it was handed over to the police for postmortem examination.
