Airlines told to pay Rs 3,500, also refund fare amount

Chandigarh: The UT consumer forum directed Indian Airlines Limited and Sheetal Travels to pay Rs 3,500 to Ashok Kumar Verma as taxi charges and also to refund appropriate amount of fare for the journey from Chandigarh to Delhi, which was not performed by him along with Rs 500 as litigation costs.
According to a complaint, Mohali resident Verma (52) had planned his holidays along with his family members and purchased a ticket to travel to and fro and between Chandigarh to Goa via New Delhi. Allegedly, the scheduled flight from Chandigarh to Delhi was cancelled without any intimation and Verma had to take a taxi for Delhi.
