New Delhi: Kingfisher Airlines, which had received permission to fly on several international routes earlier this week, would commence daily non-stop flights from Mumbai to London Heathrow from January 5.
The airline has opened bookings for the flight, which would take off from Mumbai at 1350 hours and arrive at London Heathrow's Terminal 4 at 1755 hours local time. From London, the flight will leave at 2030 hours and arrive the next day at 1100 hours, an airline spokesperson said.
The airline would operate a brand new Airbus A 330-200, configured in two classes, on the Mumbai-London route.
The Civil Aviation Ministry recently granted Kingfisher Airlines the rights and approval to operate flights on other routes. These are Mumbai-Hong Kong, Mumbai-Singapore, Chennai-Colombo, Bangalore-Colombo, Kolkata-Dhaka, Kolkata-Chittagong, Bangalore-Bangkok and Mumbai-Bangkok sectors.
"The time frame for launch of these services will be announced in due course," the spokesperson said. Kingfisher at present operates only one inernational flight on the Bangalore-London sector which was launched this September.
