Bangalore: Aviation major Kingfisher Airline Chairman Vijay Mallya today denied media reports that his relationship with Jet Airways Chief Naresh Goyal had soured.
Speaking to reporters after the AGM of the company held here, he refuted allegations and said the good relationship remained in tact.
''Contrary to reports in a section of the media, we have a very fine relationship with Jet Airways. ''Both Mr Goyal and myself are absolutely committed to work together to reduce our costs and improve the profitability prospects of both the airlines,'' Mr Mallya said.
He said going forward from January, which was only a few days away, the two companies would make some 'progressive' announcements.
Asked whether the two aviation majors would swap equity in the follow up action of their joint endeavours, Mr Mallya said there was no such plan to go 'that far.' ''Both of us have resolved to work together. We have identified the areas where we can produce quick results. But we both have decided that we will keep our entities independent,'' he said.
He said there was absolutely no compelling reason to look beyond this partnership and consider any sort of equity relationship. The two companies had set out to work closely without any equity relationship, he added.
