Manama: An airport employee who stole a camera from a passenger's bag has lost his appeal against a three-month jail sentence.
The 31-year-old Indian helped himself to the digital camera at Bahrain International Airport while the owner was passing through a security checkpoint in February.
However, the owner - who had just arrived in Bahrain - realised his camera was missing when he left the airport and went back inside to see the defendant holding it.
He reported the incident to police and the airport worker was found guilty of theft by the Lower Criminal Court, which ordered his deportation upon his release.
