BIA operations unaffected

Bangalore : BIA had anticipated the oil strike and built a fuel reserve. Hence, operations here are not impacted, BIA said in a release.
Referring to the truckers' strike, BIA said it is the first airport in India to be connected by an offsite Air Turbine Fuel (ATF) pipeline meeting international quality standards. "A 33-km underground Air Turbine Fuel (ATF) pipeline has been commissioned by the airports fuel farm concessionaire Indian Oil Skytanking Limited (IOSL). The pipeline runs from Devanagonthi to the airport fuel farm with a capacity to pump over 156,000 litres of ATF per hour."
