Patiala: Two of the three accused found guilty in the Indian Airlines plane IC-814 hijacking case— who were sent to life imprisonment by a special court and lodged in Central Jail, Patiala— have been taken to Mumbai.
They are also wanted in a bank robbery case and the security agencies might also grill them for the recent Mumbai terror attacks.
The two convicts, Abdul Latif and Dilip Kumar Bhujal, have been taken to Mumbai by a team, led by a DSP-level officer, under tight security cover.
Sources in the Police department said the duo was wanted in a bank robbery case and intelligence agencies might want to question them about their links with terror outfits. jan
“The duo is linked to a hijacking case which led to the release of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Maulana Masood Azhar, Ahmed Zargar and Sheikh Ahmed Omar Sayeed in exchange of 189 people on board,” they said.
