Mumbai: Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) officials are facilitating access to Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) personnel from outside the airport, deployed especially to carry out aircraft refuelling operations.
State-run oil firm, IOC, which is the largest supplier of jet fuel at airports across the country, has deployed personnel from the Territorial Army along with some of its senior management staff to handle refuelling operations in place of officers striking since yesterday.
More than 45,000 officers belonging to the Oil Sector Officers Association (OSOA) have struck work protesting the Government's failure to revise wages.
"We are facilitating access to IOC personnel being deployed from outside, an MIAL spokeperson said on Thursday.Meanwhile, air services were affected with as many as 57 flights landing and taking off with an average 35-minute delay.
"About 57 flights were affected between 5.30 am and 1 pm today with an average delay of 35 minutes," the MIAL spokesperson said.
