CM instructs on night landing at Imphal airport

Imphal: Chief Minister O Ibobi has issued stringent instructions to station security forces at all the places where Solar Power Obstruction Light (SPOL) have been installed so that all necessary works to facilitate night landing at Imphal airport is completed by February 16. The Chief Minister issued the instruction during a meeting with officials of Works Department, Police Housing Corporation, Airport Authority of India, State Police and Transport Department today.
The instruction came after Airport Authority of India asked the State Government to station security forces at all the places where components of SPOL would be installed.
It is reported that as per the instruction of the Chief Minister, security forces would be stationed at Nongmaiching, Phunal Maring hills, Tokpa Ching and Heibok hills from tomorrow.
After completing all installation works within February 16, a trial run for landing at night will be conducted at Tulihal Airport within a week.It is reported that the facility for night landing at Imphal airport will be commission within this month.
