‘No lay-off at Lufthansa’

Chennai: Senior airport officials here on Friday denied that German air carrier Lufthansa had laid off employees at its Chennai office. “Six employees of Lufthansa are working at the airport and a similar number should be at their office.
There are no lay offs at Chennai as of now,” officials told to The New Indian Express.
Lufthansa has a daily flight from Chennai to Frankfurt and also has code sharing arrangements with other airlines to carry its passengers on various routes. “Lufthansa has a good load factor on its flights to and from Chennai, so there should be no reason why it should fold up its operations at this city,” pointed out officials. Despite repeated attempts, the Lufthansa staff could not be contacted.
