Mumbai: Perturbed over the management's decision to slash their salaries by Rs 80,000, Kingfisher Airlines pilots are contemplating to form a union on the lines of Jet Airways' pilots' forum.
"We are upset over management's decision to slash our salaries by Rs 80,000. There is a view in the fraternity that we should have a forum to take up such issues with the management in one voice," a Kingfisher Airline pilot told PTI.
The talks of forming the union are in the initial stage and once a consensus is reached, "we hope to get an association of our own", he said on condition of anonymity.
"In the absence of a Chief Executive Officer, the airline has become a one-man show (Vijay Mallya), who does not have time to look into our issues. Hence, there is a total lack of interface between the management and the pilots," he said.
