Vadodara: Airports Authority of India (AAI) has asked the Gujarat government to allot land for development of airports across several cities in the state, a top AAI official said.
"AAI has chalked out an ambitious plan for the development of existing airports at Rajkot, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Bhuj and Vadodara . We have asked the Gujarat government to allot land for the purpose,"AAI Chairman V P Agrawal told PTI here.
On the integrated terminal building at the Harni airport here, inaugurated by Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel last week, Agrawal said it had a peak hour passenger handling capacity of 700 persons and an annual handling capacity of 7.30 lakh passengers
The apron would be extended to provide parking for seven Category C type aircraft, he said.
Work on the Rs 291 crore international terminal building at Ahmedabad airport was nearing completion and would be commissioned soon, Agrawal said.
