Patna: Spirit Air would launch its charted aircraft services, christened, `Indian Air Taxi' any day after April 10. This is the day when this private airlines is expected to get clearance from director general of civil aviation (DGCA) for launching its services.
Informing this, the airlines associate vice-president G C Biswas said, "We have also written letters to the chief secretaries of Bihar and Jharkhand for providing some basic services like fire safety, ambulance and security for meeting the norms for operating the charted services."
The cities to be connected by this service, which is first of its kind in these two states, are Raxaul, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Valmiki Nagar, Muzaffarpur, Purnia, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Motihari, Chhapra, Saharsa, Kishanganj and Katihar in Bihar. In case of Jharkhand, the air taxi service from Ranchi would be available for Chaibasa, Bokaro, Jamshedpur, Daltonganj, Hazaribag, Giridih, Dhanbad and Sindri.
"We would charge something between Rs 18,000 and Rs 20,000 per hour from those booking our aircraft for chartered services," said Biswas, adding, "Rates for flying idle hours would be Rs 12,000 per hour for the first two hours and Rs 9,500 per hour for next three hours."
