Fog delayed flight departure at Kolkata airport

Kolkata: The departures of four flights were delayed at the NSC Bose International airport in Kolkata in the morning as a thick fog cover reduced visibility.
Airport sources said four flights, for New Delhi and Mumbai, had to be delayed as visibility came down to 50 metres for more than an hour starting from 7:15 am at the airport.
However, the flights, two of them operated by Air India, left after the visibility level improved.
This was the second instance of fog disrupting flight movement during morning hours at the airport, in the outskirts of the city, in the past three days.
