Fog delays flight movement at Kolkata airport

Kolkata: Five flights were delayed due to poor visibility owing to a thick blanket of fog at the international airport here this morning.
Due to thick fog cover, visibility was reduced to 50 metres at the airport from 5:15 am to 6:30 am making flight movement impossible during the time, airport sources said.
However, as the visibility improved 7:am rpt 7:am onwards the flight movement resumed and normalcy was restored later. The Indian flights, destined for Mumbai, New Delhi and Port Blair, were delayed for 30 minutes to one hour.
