Nagpur: In a case of fraud Lakadganj Police booked six persons, including two Mumbai-based Airport Authority of India employees, a teacher and a lecturer and two others from the city, for their alleged role in duping a job-seeker. It has also been learnt that an airline employee is also involved in the fraud.
Police said that the booked culprits have duped Rajesh Gyar, 28, for over Rs 5 lakhs. Gyar, promised of a job in the aviation industry in 2007, was made to wait for considerably long period before he was furnished with a bogus document of his appointment in Air India.
The appointment letter later turned out to be a fake one when Air India authorities clarified to Gyar in Mumbai that no such order was issued to any job aspirant.
Gyar was assured of a job with a hefty pay package of Rs 70,000 and other facilities per month as salary by the tricksters. Realising that he was duped Gyar lodged complaints against Jyoti Lata, Dr Vijay Yavalkar, Vinod Tunukle and Anil Dongre from city along with Manish Ghosh and Amjad Sheikh of Mumbai. Police said that Ghosh and Sheikh are employed with AAI.
