Mumbai: According to a Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) report, the auditors of British Standards Institute (BSI) day before yesterday awarded GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) and the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) an ISO 27001:2005 (Information Security Management System) certification. This is the highest certification from BSI for Information Security, which not only consists of IT but also Information Technology and Communications, Human Resource, Facilities and Administration (Operations), Finance/ Legal, Physical & Environmental Security and Technical Services.
GHIAL’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is one of the first airports in South and South East Asia, to be certified as ISO 27001 compliant. Till now few airports around the world are ISO 27001 certified. ISO 27001 is a global standard for setting and management of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). Appin Security Group, which operates the Security Operations Centre for GHIAL, worked with the GHIAL team to implement the various security processes and procedures which enabled GHIAL to get the requisite certification.
