Toronto: Jet Airways, which operates daily flights from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport to destinations in India and beyond, via its European hub in Brussels, has been advised by border agents, along with other international carriers, of unauthorized passengers trying to enter Canada, the airline announced this week.
In response to the situation, Jet Airways is working closely with the Canadian Border Security Agency (CBSA) to prevent the boarding of such passengers on its flights. The CBSA, in turn, has provided the airline’s frontline customer service and security staff, in India and Brussels, with the necessary training to better profile and detect such passengers, and their passports.
“An increasing number of such cases has been detected by Jet Airways staff,” says B. Chandrashekar, Jet Airways’ General Manager for Canada, “and the airline is committed to working with the CBSA to eliminate the problem.”
