Pilot fined for shop theft

Singapore: A pilot who stole four bottles of perfume at Mustafa Centre on Tuesday was fined $800.
Puneet Alagh, 36, an Indian national, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to stealing $271 worth of perfume at the 24-hour department store at Syed Alwi Road.
A magistrate's court heard that a security officer saw Puneet behaving suspiciously on the second-level.
Puneet was carrying a Mustafa shopping basket with purchases and a box of Estee Lauder Pleasure perfume. He was seen removing the packaging from the box and putting the bottle of perfume into his right jeans pocket.
He then took another box of Calvin Klein Escape perfume and did likewise.
He was detained outside the store and four stolen items were found.He told the court he was a pilot with Air India and regretted what he did.
