JetLite fined for delay in service

Mysore: Mysore District Consumer Forum has fined JetLite airlines for delay in service.
The complainants Krishna S Metrani and Vijayalakshmi K Metrani had booked air tickets to travel from Bangalore to Mumbai on December 15, 2006 by JetLite (then Sahara Airlines) No S2-216 which was scheduled to leave Bangalore at 20.45 hours and reach Mumbai at 22.15 hours. It left Bangalore at 22.48 hours and reached Mumbai at 12 midnight. As a result, the couple had to face transportation and other related problems.
Hence the forum ordered JetLite to pay Rs 2,000 to each of the complainants apart from Rs 1,000 to both as damages for delay in service before 60 days. The forum took just one month and 27 days for the order.
