Nagpur: With the swine flu scare sweeping across the country’s major entry points, Airports Authority of India (AAI) and health officials at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Airport have started screening all arriving international passengers.
Doctors are screening not only passengers arriving from swine flu-affected countries, but also those arriving from middle-east countries. Officials said, “Over 200 international passengers have been screened upon arrival at Nagpur international airport till Sunday morning.”
Airport director Suresh Borkar said, “Doctors from Central Government Health Services (CGHS) are handling the screening process, along with the experts from Hope Hospital, who have a separate medical care centre at the airport.”
“Two doctors and other medical staff are on round-the-clock duty for screening passengers. Health officials are keeping a tab on all arriving passengers,” he added.
Further, crew members of international flights coming to Nagpur have been asked to be vigilant about passengers coming from affected countries.
